Program Requirements

The Business Honors Program is designed to develop all the skills and attributes needed to excel in today's global business environment. To achieve this mission, the Business Honors curriculum highlights core business courses which must be completed in a structured sequence each semester within a cohort system. Business Honors students further broaden their college experience by participating in leadership development and academic enrichment opportunities through Business Honors’ project teams.

GPA Requirements

Once a student is accepted into the Business Honors Program, the following GPAs will be required of a student by the end of a given term.

  • Current Business Honors first year students must receive a 3.25 GPA by the end of the spring semester to continue in the program during their second year.
  • Current Business Honors second year students must receive a 3.4 GPA by the end of the spring semester to continue in the program during their third year. (This includes students who joined Business Honors during their second year.)
  • Current Business Honors third year students must receive a 3.5 GPA by the end of the spring semester to continue in the program during their fourth year. (This includes students who joined Business Honors during their third year.)

Current Business Honors seniors must receive, and maintain, a 3.5 GPA to graduate with Business Honors distinction

Curriculum Requirements

  • Four-year students are required to take their lower division and upper division business core courses within the designated Business Honors section.
  • Four-year students may take up to two non-Business Honors sections of required classes over the four-year program (by using a "flex pass").
  • Incoming freshmen with passing AP/CLEP scores may be eligible to move ahead of the BH Roadmap.
  • All incoming junior transfer students must be course eligible to be considered for the program. Students are considered course eligible if they have at least 6 lower division and/or upper division business core courses within the Business Honors Program and are able to be a part of the program for a minimum of two years. If you are interested in seeing if you would be course eligible, please reach out to the Program Counselor at bha@fullerton.edu with a most recent copy of your unofficial transcripts for non-CSUF students or your CWID for current CSUF students.
  • Transfer (sophomore or junior) students may take one non-Business Honors section of required classes over the remaining years in the program (by using a “flex pass”).

Co-Curricular Requirements

  • 16 hours of active participation in the program per year, fulfilled through Business Honors project teams.
  • Attend all four mandatory Business Honors program events per year.
  • Completion of an approved academic internship (the practicum -495 course) or the study abroad program.
