Center for Family Business

In 1995 Cal State Fullerton, the third largest business school in the nation, formed the Center for Family Business to assist family businesses in recognizing their common problems and in finding solutions to the unique issues that confront them. The center's mission is to use education to help family businesses in our region grow and prosper and to keep harmony in the family.

We are meeting in person!  Check the events page for details on upcoming events.

MISSION STATEMENT

To create transformative environments, experiences, and opportunities that help leaders thrive in all stages of the family business lifecycle.  We are making a profound, positive impact on the family businesses and communities we serve.

How the Center Works

The Center for Family Business is an educational forum organized and under the direction of the College of Business and Economics at Cal State Fullerton.

The center gives its members the opportunity to network with other family businesses in the community and learn from experts in an academic setting. During each school year, the center offers multiple opportunities to learn and engage with students, faculty and other family business members through events addressing topics of particular relevance for family businesses. We also offer affinity groups for family members, including groups for founders and current leaders, women in family business, and the rising generation.

The center provides a comfortable environment for information exchange. Members can develop personal relationships with other successful business owners. Like you, these individuals are seasoned entrepreneurs who represent experience, contacts, and new business opportunities. Also, members have direct access to the resources of the university and the center's professional partners and advisors as they seek solutions to their problems and concerns. Center partners and advisors are specifically prohibited from soliciting business from center members and guests.

The Center for Family Business is part of the Family Business Director's Alliance, which includes about 50 family business centers across the United States and Canada.
