Program Requirements
The Business Honors Program is designed to develop all the skills and attributes needed to excel in today's global business environment. To achieve this mission, the Business Honors curriculum highlights core business courses which must be completed in a structured sequence each semester within a cohort system. Business Honors students further broaden their collegiate experience by participating in leadership development and academic enrichment opportunities through Business Honors’ project teams.
GPA Requirements
- Current BHP freshmen must receive a 3.25 GPA in order to continue to the sophomore year
- Current BHP sophomores must receive a 3.4 GPA in order to continue to the junior year
- Current BHP juniors must receive a 3.5 GPA in order to continue to the senior year
- Current BHP seniors must receive, and maintain, a 3.5 GPA in order to graduate with Business Honors distinction
Curriculum Requirements
- Students take closed courses reserved for Business Honors Program students. All bold-faced classes must be completed in the designated semester. Students may not take courses ahead of or behind the roadmap for their year.
- Incoming freshmen with passing AP scores of 3 or higher do not have to take the bolded course (ex. a passing AP score on microeconomics = student does not enroll in ECON 201).
- Four-year students may take up to two non-Business Honors sections (titled "flex passes") of required classes over the four-year program. Transfer (sophomore or junior) students may take one non-Business Honors section of required classes over the remaining years in the program.
Co-Curricular Requirements
- 16 hours of active participation in the program per year, fulfilled through Business Honors project teams
- Completion of an approved academic internship or study abroad program
