Request for Excess Credits
Students may have their request for excess units at Mihaylo College reviewed at any time of the semester. However, it takes 48-72 hours to review, in addition to the rest of the process, so students should plan accordingly.
During Fall & Spring Semesters when students request to enroll in more than 18 units for a semester, Mihaylo College will only approve an additional 3 units of enrollment if the following criteria has been met:
Students:
- Must have completed at least two semesters at CSUF and be in good academic standing.
- Must have a cumulative, CSUF, major and concentration GPA of 2.7 or higher.
During Summer terms when students request to enroll in more than 16 units for the summer, Mihaylo College will only approve an additional 3 units of enrollment if the following criteria has been met:
Students:
- Must have completed at least two semesters at CSUF and be in good academic standing.
- Must have a cumulative, CSUF, major and concentration GPA of 3.2 or higher.
During the Winter term when students request to enroll in more than 4 units for the summer, Mihaylo College will only approve an addition 2 units of enrollment if the following criteria has been met:
Students:
- Must have completed at least two semesters at CSUF and be in good academic standing.
- Must have a cumulative, CSUF, major and concentration GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Students can download the online form and bring it to SGMH 1201 for review. After a decision has been made by Business Advising, the student would then take the form to the department chair for review.
Finally, the form is taken to Admissions and Records for review. Please keep in mind that Admissions and Records may have additional criteria depending on the semester and enrollment demands and that the final decision will be made through the Admissions & Records office. It can take 24-48 hours for Admissions and Records to provide a decision to the student. Please keep in mind that Admissions and Records sets timelines as to when they will start accepting the forms, so while our office may be accepting and reviewing requests, Admissions and Records may ask students to hold on to the form until a specific date when the forms are accepted.
