Greg Herder, director of CSUF’s Center for Real Estate, is a seasoned entrepreneur and educator. After serving in the Marine Corps, he founded a real estate company and co-founded Hobbs/Herder Advertising, revolutionizing personal marketing in real estate. A real estate broker for over 40 years, he focuses on helping ordinary people build wealth through real estate. Greg is a passionate part-time professor at CSUF who connects outstanding students with jobs in the real estate industry and advises the industry on how it is evolving. |

Jia Xie is an Associate Professor of Finance at California State University, Fullerton, where he also serves as Academic Director of the Center for Real Estate. He holds a Ph.D. and a M.A. from Indiana University and previously worked as a Senior Analyst at the Bank of Canada and Assistant Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). His research focuses on real estate, consumer finance, and applied econometrics, with publications in leading journals such as Real Estate Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, and International Economic Review. A recipient of multiple Outstanding Scholarly Performance Awards, Dr. Xie also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Real Estate Research and is frequently cited in media outlets on housing and financial issues. |

Dr. Li is a Professor of Finance at the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on real estate finance, with specific interests in real estate brokerage, mortgage contracts, housing market dynamics and commercial real estate. Her work has been published in respected journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Real Estate Economics, and the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. Dr. Li’s research has been supported by grants from several organizations, including the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the Real Estate Research Institute (RERI), and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |

Professor Yuming Li earned his PhD degree in finance from the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago. In addition to California State University, Fullerton, Dr. Li taught at Purdue University, University of Michigan, University of California, City University of Hong Kong. He has published in leading academic journals such as American Economic Review, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Real Estate Economics and Management Science. In addition to articles written for academic audience, Dr. Li has also published some articles for practitioners in the field of finance and real estate finance. |

Dr. Desen Lin is an assistant professor of finance at California State University, Fullerton. His research and teaching interests lie in real estate finance and economics, urban economics and household finance. His studies on housing affordability, community development, real estate investment, and residential mortgages have been published in multiple academic journals, including Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Cityscape. Desen Lin earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. His thesis on the impact of rental brokerage in the New York City was acknowledged by the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) Homer Hoyt Doctoral Dissertation Award. Before pursuing a Ph.D. degree, he earned an M.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015 and a B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Fudan University in 2013. Before joining the Cal State Fullerton in Fall 2021, he was a former research fellow at the Penn Wharton Geospatial Initiative Lab and Penn Institute for Urban Research. |

Dale A. Martin is an attorney, real estate broker, and member of the faculty at Cal-State University – Fullerton teaching a variety of law related classes. His practice concentrated on representing real estate, business enterprises, and financial institutions. He received his law degree, holds a bachelor’s degree in business, and is a member of the Real Estate Section for the California State Bar. As a licensed California real estate broker, he assists people and organizations meet their real estate goals. Mr. Martin served as Senior Attorney for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and as general counsel for financial institutions. Mr. Martin has written newspaper columns pertaining to business and real estate topics of general interest to the public. He also served as a panel attorney for the California Association of Realtors.® |

Arsenio Staer is an Associate Professor of Finance at California State University, Fullerton, where his research focuses on real estate, investments, and corporate finance. His recent work examines the links between local housing markets and corporate activity, including studies on the effects of productivity shocks of dominant companies and initial public offerings on local housing markets. His earlier real estate research has investigated housing price discovery following natural disasters and option-theoretic to land valuation using a grant from the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. His work has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Real Estate Research, Financial Review, Journal of Business Research and International Real Estate Review. |

Erdem Ucar is a Professor of Finance at California State University, Fullerton. His main research focuses on the impact of local factors on corporate and financial outcomes in corporate finance and behavioral finance areas. He also has research in the real estate area, which focuses on the effect of local factors on mortgage delinquency, etc. His work was published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Banking & Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, International Real Estate Review, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Business Research, and European Financial Management. |

Dr. Jing Yang is a Professor of Finance with more than 20 years of teaching and research experience in corporate finance and real estate. She has taught a broad range of finance and real estate courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including financial management, investments, and real estate investments. Her research primarily examines housing markets, mortgages, commercial property markets, and corporate finance, and she has published in leading finance and real estate journals. Dr. Yang is an active participant in academic conferences and serves as a reviewer for several scholarly journals in finance and real estate. She also held significant leadership roles, including serving as Chair of the Department of Finance and Chair of the University Professional Leaves Committee. She currently serves on the University Planning, Resource, and Budgeting Committee and remains actively engaged in service at the department, college, and university levels. |
