Applying for Graduation
Whether you arrived at Cal State Fullerton as a first-time freshman or a transfer student, you will be graduating as a College of Business and Economics Titan. Once you've declared, earned 85 units, and have a 1.85 or higher CSUF and cumulative GPA, you are eligible to apply for graduation.
You can graduate at the end of fall, spring, or summer, and you will be invited to participate in the Commencement ceremony for the year in which you graduate.
Graduation Workshops
At this time the
College
of Business and Economics is not hosting Graduation Check Workshops due to staffing shortages. However, the College is working on a process to allow you to be approved for your expected graduation term. Please continue to check your CSUF email for updates and any steps that you need to take to facilitate your graduation check.
How to Apply for Graduation
Step 1 - Eligibility to Apply
When you are eligible, you will receive an email from CSUF to apply for graduation. Log in to your Student Homepage, click your Tasks tile and view your “To Do List.”
Step 2 - Apply for Graduation Online
Click the Academic Records tile then select "Apply for Graduation" from the left-hand menu. Follow the prompts for selecting the term and degree program.
NOTE: Your graduation term should be the semester in which you will complete your final requirements. For example, if you have eight courses remaining, you take four in the FALL and four in the SPRING semester. Spring would be your final semester and the term you select for your graduation date.
After you apply, you can still request to change your graduation date via email to businessadvising@fullerton.edu. Please provide your CWID and preferred graduation term in the email.
Step 3 - Pay Graduation Fee
Make sure to pay the one-time mandatory graduation fee of $115. This can be done at the time of applying for graduation or later online through CSUF Student Business Services. View step-by-step instructions (PDF)
NOTE: Payment can be made later and does not need to be paid when applying. You can view the Registration Calendar online for deadlines. If you ever change your graduation date, you do not need to pay the $115 fee again.
Step 4 - Commencement
You can graduate in Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters and you will be invited to participate in the Commencement ceremony held after the Spring semester for the year in which you graduate.
Example:
Fall 2021, Spring 2022, Summer 2022 = Commencement in 2022
Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Summer 2023 = Commencement in 2023
Purchase your cap and gown and attend Commencement with friends and family!
