The strength of Cal State Fullerton’s accounting education program was on full display in August as the Deloitte Foundation, the nonprofit educational arm of one of the global Big Four accounting firms, invited the college to its Accounting Scholars Program.
Only highly impactful accounting higher education institutions are invited to this program, which involves scholarship support for a minimum of 10 students pursuing a one-year master’s degree in accounting in the 2024-2025 academic year. This will make accounting graduate programs at Cal State Fullerton more accessible and available to the college’s diverse student body.
To be eligible, scholarship recipients will have to be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, have a minimum of 3.0 GPA, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, plan to pursue a CPA program but not currently have such licensure, and be seeking to further their accounting education with a master’s degree. Ethnic and racial diversity, financial need, and first-generation status is also considered in awarding these scholarships.
“The entire CSUF team does such a great job with the accounting education programs at the business college and we are proud to be associated with the education they are providing,” says Marshall Solomon, managing partner at Deloitte Orange County and member of the college’s Dean’s Advisory Board.
Solomon’s steadfast support of the college helped connect the CSUF accounting program with Deloitte’s programs. This program will only strengthen CSUF’s relationship with the Orange County business community, giving more of our students the tools they need to make an impact the moment they step foot off campus.
