Benefits of Finishing Your Business Degree Online at CSUF

Posted June 24, 2025 by Alicia Bennett

If you are a transfer student looking for a flexible way to complete your business administration degree, Cal State Fullerton’s Online B.A. in Business Administration degree-completion program is for you. Ranked #3 in Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Administration Degrees by University HQ, the program provides the same prestigious curriculum, faculty, and support resources as the CSUF on-campus business degree—delivered in a way that fits the needs of busy people.

According to Jessica Castillo ’25, a graduate of the Online B.A. in Business Administration degree-completion program, “The online program from the top-ranked Cal State Fullerton, College of Business and Economics, made it possible for me to complete my degree while working full time and raising four kids with my husband. The affordability, flexibility, and quality of the Cal State system truly changed my life.”

Here are some key benefits of being a student in the CSUF Online Business program.

Complete Your Degree at a Top-Ranked Accredited Institution
CSUF has been listed in multiple magazines as a top university, especially for social mobility (according to U.S. News and World Report) and affordability (according to Washington Monthly). The College of Business and Economics has received dual accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for both its business and accounting programs. AACSB accreditation is the highest standard of quality for business schools and reflects the college’s prestige.

The CSUF Online Business degree holds the same power as the degrees earned by on-campus business students, with no distinction made on the diploma or official transcripts regarding the degree being earned online. Employers recognize the CSUF degree as originating from a top-ranked institution, ensuring its credibility and value in the job market.

Study at a Reasonable Pace
The Online Business program is designed for students juggling multiple responsibilities—such as full-time jobs, childcare, elder care, chronic illness—who can’t commute to a physical campus location. With only two courses per semester (one in the first eight weeks and one in the second eight weeks), the program’s manageable pace enables students to advance their careers and meet their other responsibilities while completing their degree.

Get the Classes You Need When You Need Them
Students in the Online Business program follow a set course schedule with specific classes being completed in specific semesters. As long as they register by the deadline each semester, Online Business students are guaranteed a seat in their classes. This makes enrolling easier and less stressful, as there is no reason to worry about not getting the classes needed.

Learn from College of Business and Economics Faculty Members
The same professors who teach our highly acclaimed in-person undergraduate and graduate courses also teach the courses in our Online Business degree-completion program. Our instructors are passionate about their work and have conducted extensive research on a variety of business-related topics. Coming from a variety of backgrounds, our faculty offer top-tier knowledge and are dedicated to delivering a rigorous learning experience that will help students reach their full potential.

Take Advantage of Supplemental Learning and Development Opportunities
Online B.A. in Business Administration students can take advantage of learning and development opportunities that help broaden their education experience This includes study abroad opportunities, the Executive in Residence program, which connects students to senior industry leaders for professional mentorship and guidance, and the Women’s Leadership Program, which helps students of all genders address barriers to women’s advancement as leaders in the field of business.

“The Women’s Leadership Program ended up being one of the most unexpected and valuable parts of my time at CSUF,” said Online B.A. in Business Administration graduate Jessica Castillo ’25. “I originally planned to just get my degree online and didn’t expect to build the amazing friendships I found through this program.”

Access CSUF Learning and Support Resources
Students in the Online Business program have designated academic advisors in the Dean’s Office, who work directly with the Online Business program director to deliver a personalized advising experience specifically for online learners. The Online Business Academic Advising team is the one-stop shop for Online Business student support.

Online CSUF students also have access to the same campus resources as students studying on campus, such as the Business Tutoring Center and financial aid. Additionally, students in the Online Business program have online access to Pollak Library resources, the Titan Shops bookstore, and have the option to order a virtual Titan student ID card. CSUF online students in need of specialized support can also take advantage of Basic Needs Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Disability Support Services.

A key advantage to being an Online Business student at CSUF is having access to Business Career Services, where students can find support from subject matter experts in business career readiness. Our career-advising team can connect students to online tools that help with career exploration, LinkedIn profile feedback, and strengthening cover letters, resumes, and interview skills. Online students interested in pursuing an internship can work with a dedicated internship advisor. Online and in-person workshops and job fairs are held regularly, and students have the option to schedule an online or in-person appointment with one of the business career advisors.

Walk in the Same Commencement Ceremony
Online Business students participate in the same commencement ceremony as on-campus students each May. A special reception is held on the day of commencement for Online Business graduates, providing an opportunity to meet classmates in person, as well as the Online Business academic advisors, faculty members, and program leadership from the College of Business and Economics.

These are just some of the benefits available to you as an Online Business student at CSUF.
