Fall 2024 Calendar of Events
Kick-Off Meeting (September 10, 2024) O'Brien Center (SGMH 3230) In-person; 4 - 6pm
This is the first meeting of the semester to announce the spring schedule to students. All students are invited to attend. Sponsors are welcome to attend to network with new students and potential recruits. While this is not a recruiting event, it can be a good casual network with students.
CPS/Career Fair Prep Workshop (September 17, 2024) SGMH 3210; in-person, 4 – 6 pm
This is an information session about earning the Certificate of Professional Sales. This certificate is authorized by the USCA (University Sales Center Alliance). Classes, event participation, and sales competitions are part of the requirements for the certificate. Also preparation and advice from sponsor companies to prepare for the career fair.
UKG Resume Workshop (September 24, 2024) SGMH 2405; in-person, 4- 5:30 pm
A recruiter from UKG (sponsor) will lead this workshop on tips to improve your resume and have impactful content that will help you stand out. This is vital preparation for the career fair. You may bring your resume for review.
Sales Career Fair/Sponsor Networking (September 25, 2024) in-person, Titan Student Union (TSU Pavilions), 2:30 – 5:30 pm
This career fair is an in-person event with corporate sponsors attracting students to their internship and career opportunities in the TSU. Students are presented with company information and networking opportunities. Companies are encouraged to schedule student interviews during their presentations.
Sales Is Magic (October 1, 2024) in-person in the O'Brien Center (SGMH 3230) 4- 5:30 pm
Aaron O'Brien, a young magician and entrepreneur will conduct magic while telling his story to become a magician, author, presenter and lecturer for Fortune 500 companies. He will share his experiences and strategy to build skills and sales. Magic is included!
Gallo Wine Company Tour (October 4) 14402 Franklin Avenue, Tustin, CA 92780 10 am to 1 pm
Come and see the Gallo offices to view how reps sell wine, how the company distributes its products and meet with some employees to understand their culture. Lunch is provided. Registration required.
Sales Career Academy Workshop (October 11, 2024) in-person, SGMH 2406; 9 am - 3 pm
This is a workshop to help students with behavior interviewing, etiquette, getting out of their comfort zone and interacting in a professional manner. Strong interaction among students and sponsors is required. This session is also a requirement of the Certificate of Professional Sales. Registration is required.
Halloween Social (October 29, 2024) TBD; 4- 5:30 pm
A fun and exciting social event with food, costume contest, prizes, and games.
Pape Company Tour (November 1) 3650 E. Mira Loma Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92806 10 am to 1 pm
Pape invites students to their Design Center to view information about the company, see products in operation and learn about robotics in the warehouse. Lunch is provided. Registration required.
Titan Sales Competition (Competition Date: December 6, 2024)
This competition is a robust sales competition. Training workshops are available to students as they prepare for the competition. Students are given a selling scenario in which they create a sales presentation. Scores are calculated and presented to top placing contestants (top three contestants are awarded scholarships). Judges include corporate partner representatives and alumni. Registration is required.
