ACCT 495 - Internship Course for Accounting Students
Synopsis
ACCT 495 consists of a supervised internship, designed to provide students with practical knowledge prior to graduation. It can be taken for a grade or on a credit/non-credit basis. Please review the ACCT 495 Information Card for more details.

When taken for a grade, this course satisfies the practicum requirement of the accounting concentration. Only freshmen and students transferring into CSUF in fall 2019 and thereafter are eligible for the graded internship.

When taken for credit/non-credit, this course can count towards the 120 units needed for graduation and towards the 150 units required for the CPA certification. It will not count towards major or concentration requirements.

Starting in fall 2020, graduate students in the MSA and MST program may also be eligible to enroll in ACCT 495. Graduate students must consult with their advisors to verify eligibility.
Prerequisites and Instructions
Undergraduate students must have attained junior standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Please read the CICE Internship Instructions Page for additional prerequisites and detailed instructions.
Guidelines for Registration
The procedure for registering and completing the internship is available in the ACCT 495 Internship Guide. All students enrolling in ACCT 495 must attend the internship orientation session scheduled by the College of Business and Economics' Career Services. See course syllabus for more information.
Course Requirements

At the end of the semester, the student will provide the instructor a daily diary and an hourly log. See the course syllabus, available through the student's Titanium portal, for details.

For those taking ACCT 495 for a grade, there are additional requirements that include: 1) mandatory attendance in class meetings, 2) an internship paper, 3) an employer performance evaluation, 4) a student evaluation of the internship. See course syllabus available through Titanium for details.
