In a capstone of a powerful semester of growth and professional development for sales-focused Cal State Fullerton Business Titans, the Sales Leadership Center held the Titan Sales Competition on Friday, Dec. 5. The annual event provides CSUF students of all majors the opportunity to develop professional skills and applicational experience through role play of sales scenarios coupled with networking and recruitment opportunities with potential employers.
Parveer Singh ’28 took first place with a coveted $750 scholarship, Erick Redic ’26 came in second with a $500 scholarship, and Dain Ko took third place and a $250 scholarship.
In 2025, Sherwin-Williams, one of the center’s new corporate sponsors, provided the role-play for the competition. The company’s representatives acted as buyers, while students sold the company’s services as they would in real-world marketing or sales circumstances. Other corporate supporters included Enterprise Mobility, CED, Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, Adobe, Patterson Dental, UKG, Bay Alarm, Ryerson, Gallo Winery, Daikin, Uline, Samsara, and Amcor.
More than 40 students participated in this year’s competition. At times during the one-on-one sessions pairing students with the corporate partners, it was difficult to remember who was the student and who were the professionals due to the excellent soft skills of the Business Titans.
“This event allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations, build confidence, receive direct feedback from industry professionals, and compete for cash scholarships,” explains Brad Anderson, director of the Sales Leadership Center. “Our sponsor companies and alumni act as judges for the competition. This allows them to see our students in action selling real products and services. This allows them to observe how these students may fit the company culture and be successful employees.”
With emotional intelligence the focus of many employers amidst the AI boom of the 2020s, the Sales Leadership Center’s event, including the Titan Sales Competition, provides opportunities for students to perfect selling their personal brand while supporting the college’s professional network with a pipeline for top student talent and brand recognition on campus.
“We augment the CSUF curriculum with experiential competitions to develop student skills and experience that companies desire. And the companies judge the event to see the results of the efforts put forth by students,” explains Anderson.
