The Online B.A. in Business Administration is taught by the same high-quality faculty as in-person courses at Cal State Fullerton’s College of Business and Economics. Recognized for both research and teaching acumen, our many faculty members are notable for a quality and stature.
One of these faculty members is Management Professor Shaun Pichler, who earned his doctorate in human resources and industrial relations management from Michigan State University. Pichler is a professor in the online B.A. in Business Administration program. His research on workplace diversity, trends including flexible scheduling, and human resource management has brought his studies consistently in top-ranked journals.
Pichler has taught MGMT 343 – Human Resource Management since the online program’s inception in 2012. Back then, online education was the exception rather than the rule in higher education, and the CSUF program was notable for flexibility. This value-add continues today.
“Students can choose how much time they want to spend interacting with the professor, when they want to engage the course material, and what modality they want to spend the most time on, such as recorded lectures vs. curated readings,” says Pichler. “What I like most about teaching online is being able to provide students with flexibility and access while also being available to those students who exert extra effort in the course, such as by working one-on-one to help them perform well in the course and in their careers.”
From Pichler’s experience, students in this online program include those who have taken time away from university life to focus on job transitions, parenting and other family responsibilities. Others were having academic challenges, but have thrived in the flexible format of the online degree. After successful matriculation, they go on to rewarding and achieving careers.
“Students have access to world-class business faculty in a fully-online environment at an unbeatable price and accelerated pace,” says Pichler of the online B.A. in Business Administration. That degree path has consistently been ranked as one of the top programs of its kind by U.S. News & World Report. “Our faculty have Ph.D. degrees from the top institutions in their field, have relevant work experience, are world-renowned scholars, and have been selectively chosen to teach in this program based on their track record of success and care for students.”
Pichler has published peer-reviewed articles in top ranked journals such as the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology and Business Horizons on topics such as the impact of Generation Z in the workforce and practical ways employers can support their workers’ mental health and wellbeing.
