Internship and Career Opportunities

Dear Students (and Alumni),

The risk management and insurance sector is expected to see 1,500 to 2,500 new hires in Orange County in the next year just to maintain current operations.  Fifty percent of insurance companies are expecting to expand their labor force.  Demand in Orange Country is across the board, including underwriting, actuarial, claims, compliance, technology and analytics.

SRMI actively supports students professional development with iDay, Excess & Surplus Lines (E&S) Day, virtual resume workshops, and other activities.  In addition, SRMI solicits openings for internships and career openings from our industry partners and posts these for students and alumni. 

Handshake and LinkedIn regularly post internships and job openings, so check those sources often.

The application period for many internships for Summer 2027 closes in the fall, so be sure and apply early.
