Global Classroom
Our Global Classroom has been very successful in inviting international insurance professionals to our campus to present international issues to our local insurance agents, brokers, industry professionals and students. So far we have hosted more than 10 events for visiting Chinese delegations. Past events include Henan Provincial Government delegation, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Executives delegation, and a guest lecture on WTO challenges to China’s insurance industry by Dr. Qixiang Sun from China’s prestigious Peking University. The events have not only established and enhanced the reputation of Cal State Fullerton, but have also brought financial resources to the School of Risk Management and Insurance, formerly The Center for Insurance Studies. For example, the Senior Leadership in the 21st Century program, designed for pharmaceutical industry executives from Shanghai, China attracted a great amount of attention from local business communities, including Beckman Coulter, Sunrider International, ICN Pharmaceuticals, etc.
The founder of AST Research, Mr. Albert Wong, came to CSUF to speak to the delegation. Another example is that the visit of a Chinese insurance executive delegation to the Auto Club of Southern California even received attention form the local Chinese TV state and was reported on their daily news coverage. The Global Classroom program expands our name not only in the insurance industry but also the Southern California business community.
