Goodwill Smart Start Program
The Goodwill Smart Start Program is a partnership between Business Career Services and Goodwill that provides eligible College of Business and Economics students with access to professional business attire.
Who is Eligible?
- Current College of Business and Economics students
- Students with financial need preparing for internships, interviews, networking events, career fairs, or other professional experiences
How It Works
- Complete the Career Clothing Interest Form.
- Business Career Services will review your submission.
- Eligible students will be contacted to schedule a Goodwill shopping appointment based on availability.
- Attend your appointment at Goodwill and select professional clothing.

- Appointments are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Completing the interest form does not guarantee an appointment.
- Students will be contacted directly with next steps if selected.
JCPenney Suit-Up Event
The CSUF Career Center partners with JCPenney to host exclusive Suit-Up Events, giving students, alumni, faculty, and staff the opportunity to purchase professional attire at discounted prices.
Participants can typically receive up to 30% off select career apparel and accessories, including:
- Suits and blazers
- Dress shirts and blouses
- Dress pants and skirts
- Dresses
- Shoes
- Ties and other professional accessories

Location: JCPenney at Brea Mall
To receive the exclusive event discounts, attendees should bring their CSUF Titan Card or CWID for check-in.
The JCPenney Suit-Up Event is a great opportunity to build your professional wardrobe for interviews, internships, networking events, career fairs, and your first job.

Tuffy's Career Closet
Free Professional Clothing for CSUF Students
Tuffy's Career Closet, a program through CSUF Basic Needs, provides currently enrolled CSUF students with free professional clothing to support their success in interviews, internships, career fairs, networking events, presentations, and other career-related opportunities.
How It Works
- Current CSUF students may select and keep up to six (6) professional clothing items per month at no cost.
- No appointment is required—students can visit during CSUF Basic Needs' regular operating hours.
