Your Guide to CSUF’s Business Graduate Program Application Process

Posted March 18, 2026 by Daniel Coats

Getting an MBA or specialized business master’s degree from Cal State Fullerton’s College of Business and Economics has the potential to supercharge your career and open doors of opportunity. World-class faculty, strong industry connections, affordability, flexible scheduling, and a commitment to first-generation students and diversity set the college’s graduate programs apart. Many resources are available to help navigate the application process, ensuring you will be ready to begin reaping the benefits of your education.

Guidance from the Graduate Programs Admissions Team

Kellee Carter, senior assistant director of Business Graduate Programs, explains that using the available support helps make the graduate application process clearer and more manageable. “These resources give you insider insight into what grad programs are looking for and help you avoid mistakes you might not even know you’re making,” she explains. “Having that support system makes the whole process way less overwhelming and sets you up for better outcomes.”

Here are three graduate application resources to help students during the process:

  1. Attend Information Sessions

Prospective students wanting to learn more about the program options, are encouraged to join information sessions, which include the Admissions Team highlighting the benefits of the respective programs and what sets a Business Titan education apart. Information sessions are available as online events or in-person at the business college. Check out our calendar to register for the next event!

  • Connect With Your Advisor

Questions about prerequisites, class schedules, earning course credit for internships or previous academics, or maximizing study abroad opportunities are some of the areas in which our advisors can provide insights and support.

We have in-person events for questions specific to individual concentrations. And advisors look forward to connecting in-person with our grad students through Meet Your Advisor events and individualized appointments.

  • Discover the Financial Aid Benefits Available

The need-based State University Grant and numerous scholarships based on achievement and personal experience are available to Business Graduate Students. The university-wide Office of Financial Aid is a great place to start your savings journey. But don’t forget your contacts at Business Graduate Programs and the offices of the most relevant departments within the college, such as Accounting or Information Systems, for additional scholarship opportunities.

Refining your application can feel like a complex and nuanced process. Thankfully, the college is replete with advisors and supporters to help you every step of the way. Says Carter: “The best way to refine your application is to be intentional and authentic. Start early, tell your story clearly, and make sure your goals align with the program you’re applying to. Getting feedback from mentors and advisors is huge — they’ll catch things you miss and help you make your application stronger and more competitive.”
