Orange County Capital Manager and CSUF Alumnus Robert Kargenian ’81 Ensures College Baseball Players Get Personal Finance Training

Cal State Fullerton is a well-known baseball school, and its baseball and softball players get top-notch athletic and physiological training. They are also prepared for successful financial futures, thanks to Bob Kargenian ’81 (sports administration), the founder and president of Orange-based TABR Capital Management.

For six years, Kargenian, a proud Titan and baseball aficionado, has spearheaded an annual three-hour seminar held at the university’s Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. The workshop covers taxes, Social Security and Medicare, FICO scores, debit and credit cards, mortgages and loans. Each attendee also receives a money management book.

Kargenian, a board member for Mihaylo College’s Titan Capital Management applied student-run investment program, also established a record $200,000 baseball scholarship endowment providing funding for two recipients each year who excel at both academics and baseball.

Read more about the financial training program and scholarship, Kargenian’s story, and his impact on students in this article by Cal State Fullerton Athletics.
