April Morris

Ms. Morris is the co-director of the Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance. After graduating from CSUF, she rose to the level of Manager with the accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co. She left Arthur Andersen to join an Orange County NYSE-listed company as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Ms. Morris' duties included shareholder relations, financial and tax matters, financing of the company's operations, insurance, regulatory matters and more.
Ms. Morris' career also includes assisting private equity groups with operational issues in their portfolio and consulting with young start-up companies, from venture-capital funded medical products companies to online retail companies, on accounting and financing matters as well as the structure of venture capital funding.
In 2013, Ms. Morris joined CSUF teaching valuation concepts and other business-related topics. Ms. Morris' approach is to inject real life situations and data into the classroom to better prepare students to face today's technology-driven world. Ms Morris was the recipient of the 2015-2016 and 2017-2018 EY Excellence in Teaching Award and the 2017 CSUF Department of Accounting Excellence in Teaching, Part-time Faculty Award.
Ms. Morris is a CPA and holds a certificate of completion in Tableau Intermediate Data Visualization and Dashboarding.
