The consulting industry takes many forms – strategy consulting, management consulting, operations consulting, financial advisory, HR consulting and technology consulting. In 2023, nearly 2 million Americans were employed in the management consulting space alone.
Cal State Fullerton’s College of Business and Economics is at the forefront of preparing students for consulting careers. A centerpiece of this effort is the student-founded and operated Titan Consulting club.
Founded by finance students Delaney Poore ’24, Hayden Parker ’26, and Nick Helton ’26, Titan Consulting was created to educate students about career paths within consulting. These paths are more available to CSUF students than ever before thanks to the rising stature of the university’s business education programs.
Speaker panels, networking events, recruitment preparation and events, and a community of students with similar goals are among the initiatives of the club, which seeks to be a bridge between Cal State Fullerton business students and Southern California firms.
“We emphasize management consulting, but also embrace other areas of consulting. Our main activities occur through professional events in collaboration with firms,” explains Poore, the club’s co-president. “We work with companies and professionals to offer students insightful workshops and presentations to prepare them for a career in consulting and align our events in parallel to the timeline of consulting recruiting.”
Though founded in 2022, the club already has 60 official members and has collaborated with firms such as PointB, RSM, Deloitte Consulting and EY-Parthenon. In its first semester, the club had an average turnout of 30 students at events. Many involved students are also members of Business Honors and the Student Managed Investment Fund, emphasizing the high acumen of Titan Consulting students.
Management Professor Gerard Beenen, who worked in consulting at Bain and EY, is the club’s faculty advisor.

“Titans should consider consulting careers if they are intrigued by diverse work opportunities, problem-solving, and a fast-paced work environment,” says Poore.
