On March 19, the Cal State Fullerton College of Business and Economics hosted corporate leaders and faculty members for the “Leading Transformation through Data and Technology” workshop, demonstrating its commitment to thought leadership in AI and Big Data-driven organizational innovation.
The workshop dived into the current state of artificial intelligence (AI) and data and how companies can align with this future. The event was facilitated by Libby Duane Adams, a member of the college’s Dean’s Advisory Board and co-founder of Alteryx, and Steve Brodrick, a former colleague of Adams and founder and CEO of Horizon Five.
Adams and Brodrick focused on equipping leaders with the skills needed to drive organizational change through data and technology. Discussions covered topics ranging from the role of data in organizations and AI-driven value creation and automation to preparing for the future of AI and the importance of champions in leading transformation. Participants explored strategies for leveraging data to inform decision-making, preparing for AI’s evolving demands, and fostering a culture of upskilling to develop future-ready talent. Faculty also explored ways to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an AI-driven world, ensuring they are ready for the workforce of the future. Through these discussions, attendees gained valuable insights into navigating digital transformation and positioning their organizations for sustained success.
