The Cal State Fullerton College of Business and Economics is poised to expand its outreach to the Orange County community and beyond with the new addition of Executive Director of Development Dan Riley.
With more than 20 years of experience in university advancement at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, UCLA Anderson School of Management, and his alma mater Occidental College, Riley brings knowledge of the latest trends needed to help the college reach the next level in community development. Riley’s addition to the college’s senior leadership speaks to the commitment the college has to its alumni and business network.
“Cal State Fullerton is a special place where education plays a truly transformational role in the lives of students and their families,” says Riley. “In my mind, Cal State Fullerton stands alone in the impact that it makes on its students and community. Ultimately, I joined the college because I believe so strongly in the ability of the college to play a transformational role in the lives of our students and their families. With increased philanthropy in support of Dean Sundaram’s vision, we will augment scholarship programs, faculty and center support, while creating new and impactful programs.”
Riley is leading a new development team committed to advancing the cause of the College of Business and Economics.
“The mission of our team is to build alumni and community relationships and to raise funds in support of the college’s students, faculty, centers, institutes and programs,” says Riley. “I think of our work in three complementary buckets: fundraising, alumni relations and community engagement.”
The College of Business and Economics is always looking to connect with its alumni base, which numbers more than 70,000 across the country and internationally. From board memberships to guest speakers to donor opportunities to scholarships to regular alumni social networking events, there are many ways for our grads to reengage or to continue to engage with their alma mater.
