In a celebration of the dedication and commitment of CSUF business students in a time of unprecedented change, 2,685 business graduates from the CSUF College of Business and Economics were eligible for recognition at commencement 2022. The event was held on Wednesday, May 25, and featured thousands of faculty, staff and family members, who were there to cheer on the grads.

In the morning ceremony, those who had studied entertainment and hospitality management, entrepreneurship, international business, information systems, management, marketing, and MBA programs heard the inspiring words of fellow grad Vivian Yenson ’22 (finance) and college friend and supporter Charlie Zhang.

During an evening ceremony, graduates of accounting, economics, finance and professional business programs were recognized.

Grads and their families attending the evening ceremony watched as donor, alumnus and philanthropist Jeff Van Harte ’80 accepted an honorary doctorate from Cal State Fullerton. They also heard from Terry Giles ’70 (speech communication), who is a friend and major donor to the business college. Accounting grad Rita Boyle ’22 shared her inspirational story of overcoming a multiple sclerosis diagnosis to balance work, school and motherhood, and earning a degree in accounting.

“Congratulations to all 2,000-plus graduates who participated in the morning and evening commencement ceremonies from the College of Business and Economics this year,” says Dean Sri Sundaram, reflecting on presiding over his first commencement ceremonies as dean of the college. “It was wonderful to celebrate this joyous occasion in person and with family and friends. On behalf of the college’s faculty and staff, I want to wish each of you the best in all your future endeavors! Go TITANS!”
