The CSUF College of Business and Economics Welcomes 10 New Faculty Members in Fall 2022

Bringing diverse backgrounds and expertise. Encompassing a wide range of research interests. Offering fresh perspectives and insights. The CSUF College of Business and Economics gains all this and more as we welcome 10 new faculty members to the Business Titan family this fall. “I am truly excited about the cohort of new faculty that will be joining the College of Business and Economics team in fall. They will help us develop innovative academic programs and provide thought leadership for the region through their research,” remarked Dean Sri Sundaram.

Accounting

FARZANA AFRIN

Education: Ph.D. in accounting, Boston College (current student); MBA in finance, the University of Dhaka Institute of Business Administration; B.B.A. in accounting and information systems, the University of Dhaka

Research interests: Understanding the capital market and real effects of disclosure, including those made by the media, and the role of proprietary information on decision making

SABRINA CHI

Education: Ph.D. in accounting, UC Irvine; M.S. in accounting – tax consulting, University of Virginia; M.S. in accountancy, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; B.A. in business administration, National Taiwan University

Research interests: The reactions of sophisticated investors and analysts to tax disclosures and the factors associated with tax avoidance on income shifting; the effects of disclosure, information acquisition and information costs in the capital market; and big data analytics

MASON SNOW

Education: Ph.D. in accounting, Arizona State University (expected 2022); M.A. in accounting, Brigham Young University; B.S. in accounting and economics, Brigham Young University.

Research interests: Earnings benchmarks, alternative data in capital markets and taxpayer behavior

Economics

DIVYA BHAGIA

Education: Ph.D. in economics, Boston College (expected 2022); M.A. in economics, Delhi School of Economics; B.A. in economics, University of Delhi.

Research Interests: Labor economics and applied econometrics

TAYLOR MACKAY

Education: Ph.D. in economics, UC Irvine (expected 2022); M.A. in economics, San Diego State University; B.A. in philosophy with concentration in law, George Mason University

Research Interests: Public economics, urban economics, economics of immigration and poverty

Management

DAVID CHO

Education: Ph.D. in operations and decision sciences, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University; MBA in operations management, USC Marshall School of Business; B.S. in mechanical engineering, UC Berkeley

Research Interests: Health-care management

HYUNSU KIM

Education: Ph.D. in hospitality management, University of South Carolina College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (expected 2022); M.S. in convention and exhibition management, Kyung Hee University, Korea; B.S. in international studies, Kyung Hee University, Korea

Research Interests: Customer experience, customer engagement, service and technological innovation, bibliometric analysis, and advanced qualitative and quantitative methods

HUNTER VAN WAGONER

Education: Ph.D. in organizational behavior, University of Colorado, Boulder; B.A. in economics, Colorado College

Research Interests: Well-being and emotions, leadership, diversity and justice

Marketing

MEHRNOOSH RESHADI

Education: Ph.D. in business administration and marketing, Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business Administration (expected 2022); MBA in firm strategy, Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management; B.A. in finance, University of Tehran

Research Interests: Digital marketing and technology-mediated marketing; marketing technology interfaces and interactions related to emergent technologies (robots, avatars, virtual and augmented reality, etc.); digital policy, digital well-being and transformative consumer research

JAY YANG

Education: Ph.D. in marketing, Drexel University LeBow College of Business; M.S. in marketing analytics, Illinois Institute of Technology Stuart School of Business; B.S. in management and economics, Shandong University

Research Interests: The impact of new technologies on consumer, business and society; digital marketing
