Business Industry Insiders kicked off with topics such as how to navigate your early career journey, alumni advice on how they’ve grown in their careers and what motivates them to continue in their respective fields. Candace Newman spoke about her passion for the live music industry in her company Live Out L!ve and bridging the gap for diverse individuals in her networking session. Chris Martinez covered the importance of taking a chance on yourself to get to the next big opportunity, specifically in the tech space.
The event connected fellow business students to successful industry professionals, much like the Business Honors program does for all of its cohorts. These networking opportunities set the program apart and brings opportunities to the college to enrich student experience. Breakout sessions followed the panel and allowed students to speak with fellow Titan alumni to create meaningful connections. Attendees then entered into an opportunity drawing for a variety of prizes from the program.
Tiffany Chow ’20, Chris Martinez ’18, Vatsche Kasakian ’17 and Candace Newman ’04 served as panelists and work in a variety of industries including entertainment, consulting, and tech marketing.
“I believe students gained valuable insight and expanded their network by engaging with the alumni,” says Samuel Betancourt, Business Honors executive director of outreach. “Seeing CSUF alumni present and willing to give back motivates students to pursue their goals.”
