As the Cal State Fullerton campus implemented a closure through at least the end of the semester, the faculty and staff of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics were busy preparing virtual options, ensuring that essential student services such as tutoring, advising and career services would continue uninterrupted for students during the balance of the semester.

Here are some of the options available for students to stay on track academically and professionally during this time of challenge and uncertainty.

E-Tutoring

The Mihaylo Tutoring Center has transitioned to an online format for the remainder of the semester, with virtual appointments available through the center’s web scheduler.

The center will continue to offer tutoring on typical “bottleneck” courses during the remainder of the semester, including ACCT 201, 301 and 302; Business Writing 201 and 301; ECON 201, 202, 315 and 320; FIN 320; and ISDS 361 and 514.

To book an appointment, utilize the “Book a Tutor or Break-Out Room” option in the left sidebar navigation. After logging in to the campus portal, make an appointment through the TitanNet feature in the upper right corner of the page.

To get up-to-date news from the tutoring center, follow their Instagram account, @mihaylotutoring.

Keeping Your Career Prospects on Track

Since you are at home and in front of a laptop for a good portion of your day, now is a great time to take advantage of the job-finding resources available to you as a business student. Mihaylo Career Services staff members are available to meet students through Zoom video conferencing and can answer general non-advising questions by email.

Schedule a virtual appointment to tune up your résumé or cover letter, get tips on career exploration and job/internship strategy, or prepare for your future as a graduate student planning a career change.

There is also a series of virtual workshops available that cover specific fields, such as marketing and management, professional communication, interview preparation and more.

Stay on Track Academically With Business Advising

The Business Advising Center has also adopted virtual operations, and questions are answered with a 24- to 48-hour turnaround through [email protected]. Forms needing submission can also be directed to this email address.

Virtual advising may be scheduled through your portal by appointment online. Students will be emailed a link to a Zoom meeting. Start the process by selecting the “Make an Appointment” icon in the left sidebar navigation.

Non-advising questions can be directed to [email protected].

It’s All About You

Cal State Fullerton has launched You | Cal State Fullerton, a fully confidential profile that provides customized tips and resources designed to enhance your academic performance, social life and career path.

Working on your schooling during the coronavirus pandemic may be a trying time, but the campus community is here to help you, whether it be tips on how to manage stress and anxiety, how to maintain a nutritious diet, or how to set and stay committed to realistic goals, such as maintaining a high GPA or landing an internship.

Dealing with anxiety or depression during this uncertain time?

The Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is providing 24/7 crisis phone sessions at (657) 278-3040. In addition, CAPS counselors are continuing therapy sessions for current CAPS students.

And if you need physical medical care, there is still an appointment-only on-campus option through Health Services.

Across the Campus

Each of the eight colleges within Cal State Fullerton – as well as many departments and divisions of the university itself – are offering virtual options and resources for students to stay on track. Check out this full list of online campus-wide resources.
