Dr. Mande is the director of the School of Accountancy and director of the Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance. He was named the Outstanding Faculty in 2020 and 2005 by the College's Executive Council. He was the editor-in-chief of the Managerial Auditing Journal from 2018 until July 2021. He has won numerous awards including the: EY Professorship, PwC Faculty Fellowship and Moss Adam Research Fellowship. Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, he was the 2001-2002 Academic Fellow at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington DC. Professor Mande has also held faculty appointments at the City University of New York- Baruch, the University of Arizona and the University of Nebraska, Omaha.

Dr. Mande is the author of Accounting for Share-Based Compensation (2006) published by BNA (Arlington, VA). He has been quoted in numerous newspapers and publications including KPMG's Audit Committee Insight and Compliance Week. His work on auditor liability was cited by the New York Times and his analysis of CEO compensation was the front page story of the Orange County Register. His research findings have been published in Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, International Journal of Accounting, ABACUS, Accounting and Business Research and a number of other journals. He served on the editorial board of Research in Accounting Regulation. Dr. Mande has provided US GAAP and IFRS training to companies in London, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, New Delhi, and across the United States.
