Research Opportunities
Independent Study Research Elective (599) typically involves a student working with a faculty mentor. Students who want to collaborate and research with faculty may receive academic credit for research. To earn academic credit you must enroll in an Independent Study Research Elective. To enroll in a course you will need to:

Meet with a Faculty Research Mentor in the area you are interested in doing research (contact the Academic Department to find a faculty mentor).

Update your Concentration Approval Sheet. Find the appropriate sheet based on your program and start term on the concentration electives page.

Submit the signed and approved Independent Study Form (pdf) and Concentration Approval Form (Step 3) to your Academic Advisor in SGMH 4210.
NOTE: No more than six units of independent study may be applied to the study plan.
