Beta Alpha Psi Honors Students
What is BAP?
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. It provides the opportunities for career development, participation in community service, and interactions among students, faculty, and professionals.
Who are the Volunteers?
The volunteers are BAP members and candidates since tutoring is part of the community service required at CSUF BAP.
Qualifications
“Students providing recruitment guidance are both academically successful and have already received and accepted offers from firms. They can provide tips and insight regarding the recruitment process within public accounting.”
They have met the following requirements:
- 3.25 Upper-division major GPA and 3.25 Cumulative GPA or 3.25 cumulative GPA in your last 30 units at CSUF.
- They have also completed the classes that they volunteer to tutor.
What Subject can they Tutor/ Provide Guidance?:
BAP volunteers can provide tutoring for the following subjects:
- ACCT 201A, ACCT 201B, ACCT 307, ACCT 308
- BUAD 301
- FIN 320
- ISDS 361A, ISDS 361B
- Public Accounting Recruiting Peer Tutoring (tutors must have an offer)
What are the hours?
Wednesday and Thursday: 5 pm - 8 pm; Friday: 9 am - 1 pm
How can I make appointments with a BAP Tutor?
Sign-ups will be sent out through Beta Alpha Psi and the Business Tutoring Center Instagram account @csuf.businesstutoring
How do I join the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honors Society?
Beta Alpha Psi has a recruiting table in Mihaylo Courtyard during the first three weeks of every semester. You are encouraged to stop by the table or visit the CSUF BAP website at http://csufbap.org for more information.
"Members in Good Standing" Requirements
Returning members who meet the following requirements will be recognized as “Members in Good Standing.” The names of these members shall be listed as “Members in Good Standing” in the program for the end of semester awards banquet.
- 10 Professional Hours (e.g. speaker meetings, Meet the Firms, Mock Interviews, Awards banquet, golf tournament, office tours, career development workshop).
- 10 Community Service Hours (including tutoring and BAP-sponsored community service events).
- 5 Additional Hours (membership table, communications development, fundraising, other service events and meetings).
