There are many great things I can say about the Entrepreneurship Program at CSUF: I learned a lot about how to start and run a business, the professors are engaging and helpful, the Student Consulting Projects provide you with a great deal of practical experience and the list could go on. While working my way through this program there was one benefit I was unaware of and that was that our programs clients (and coaches too) use the Student Consulting Projects as a way to recruit students like me!
One of the Student Consulting Teams I was on did a project for Anish Patel, owner of Ashtel Studios in Fontana, California. At the time, his company was developing a new line of toothbrushes and they wanted help marketing this product. During our first meeting with Mr. Patel we developed a list of deliverables that focused on different marketing key success factors.
Throughout the semester our team worked hard to develop a marketing strategy for the toothbrushes. Personally, I decided that I wanted to do a little extra work on this project because it was such a fascinating topic and I really respected Mr. Patel. I ended up calling many companies and interviewing them on ways to help Mr. Patel with international brand recognition.
By the end of the semester we had developed a thorough marketing plan that included ways to market a unique toothbrush Mr. Patel had created that plays Justin Beiber music while the person is brushing. Over the next few months I kept up-to-date with Mr. Patels progress and found out that he was going to launch other singing toothbrushes since the Beiber toothbrush worked so well.
Thanks to my tenacity and inquisitiveness, Mr. Patel offered me a job working for him. I am not only honored but very thankful that I now have the opportunity to work for him. I am also grateful to the CSUF Entrepreneurship Program because if it werent for this program none of this would have been able to happen. All of the programs support and teachings are things that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
