The Mihaylo Accounting program prepares you for a challenging and fulfilling career in a profession that offers unlimited opportunities and rewards. The primary areas of employment for our graduates include positions in auditing, corporate accounting, government accounting, consulting, tax accounting and education.

Mihaylo Accounting represents one of the largest undergraduate accounting programs in the nation, with more than 1,000 currently enrolled accounting majors. The size of our program enhances your flexibility in scheduling classes and allows more variety in accounting course offerings. Our program is AACSB accredited, which alone sets us apart in Orange County. Only two other schools in Southern California and only 4% of accounting departments in the United States have earned this distinction.

We offer a modern curriculum that prepares accountants for the burgeoning demand in the accounting industry. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are built on three core principles: bringing real-world knowledge into the classroom, leveraging technology to deliver education, and integrating analytics throughout our curriculum. Our graduate programs include a joint Master of Science in Accounting and Finance (MSAF), a Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) and a Master of Science in Taxation (MST). Graduates of our MSA program are highly sought after by employers in the region, and the MSA program allows you to satisfy the CPA education requirements as mandated by the state.

Our focus is on making sure your experience within the accounting program sets you on the path for a productive career. You will enhance your learning experience through paid internships, independent study and student group activities, and a number of scholarships and awards are available each semester for deserving students. Each year, student groups sponsor “Meet the Firms” and an “Industry Night,” which provide you with beneficial networking opportunities among professionals from the accounting community. Public accounting firms in the area also formally recruit on the campus.

Published in the best accounting journals, our faculty are active in research and work closely with graduate students in academic and industry-focused research.

Mihaylo Accounting is only one of a handful of universities offering an Internal Audit Certificate in partnership with the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) Internal Auditing Education Partnership.

Our location in the heart of dynamic Orange County provides invaluable access to some of the largest and most successful companies in the nation. With a countywide population of more than 3 million – the sixth-largest county in the U.S. – there is a substantial local corporate presence, including several Fortune 500 companies (Disney, Ingram Micro, First American Corporation, Broadcom, Western Digital, Pacific Life, etc.).
