Cal State Fullerton’s chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) was named among the organization’s top 10 chapters out of 378 affiliates globally at the New Orleans International Collegiate Conference in March.
Mihaylo’s student clubs offer networking, professional development, career readiness resources and a behind-the-scenes look at the industry. Mihaylo’s chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), the world’s leading association for marketing professionals, was recently honored as one of the top 10 chapters at the organization’s annual collegiate conference in New Orleans.
The event, featuring more than 1,700 marketers, provides students with the opportunity to expand their network, explore careers and best practices, and celebrate the successes of individual chapters.
“AMA offers lifelong connections, friendships, marketing development and the ability to build a marketing and leadership portfolio through involvement in committees,” says Nicholas Jakel ’17 (marketing), the chapter’s executive vice president.
In addition to regular club meetings, members participate in socials, company tours, fundraisers, alumni events, certifications and conferences all geared toward the goal of developing the next generation of technologically adept, ethical, versatile and well-rounded marketers. Among the club’s recent events was the Get H.I.R.E.D. conference on April 22, which was open to both members and non-members for internship and career development tips. Members also work with actual clients through Panorama, a student-run marketing agency, to develop research, strategy and applied projects used by for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
