Abstract

Continuous improvement techniques oftentimes center around strategic sweeps of actions based on tactical results of course embedded measures. This presentation will outline a bottom up approach, to ensure that the “closing the loop” activities are in fact a tactical course by course discussion and improvement mechanism that is sometimes overlooked in the measures taking place in the assessment practices. The *area group* technique will filter the results to the specific course area group, which in turn will customize the related proposal in strategic form to the particular course. This will ensure the course does in fact have continuous improvement in relation to the learning goals, as well as foster a more involved approach of faculty in the assessment process.
