Dr. Jane Hall is an internationally recognized expert on
the economics of regulation and the environment. Her recent focus is
on developing integrative ways to understand how changes in the
environment affect well being. She has published extensively on a
broad range of topics, including national economic policy, the 1997
Asian economic crisis, and the economic costs of pollution and
regulation. Dr. Hall's research appears in numerous journals,
including Science and the Journal of Environmental Economics and
Management, and books, including a book on the economic impacts of
environmental regulation. She has made presentations throughout the
United States and in countries such as Australia, New Zealand,
Belgium, England, Hong Kong and Thailand. She is Professor of
Economics at California State University, Fullerton and Co-Director
of the Institute for Economic and Environmental Studies. She has
served on the EPA Science Advisory Board Council on Clean Air Act
Compliance Analysis, the Subcommittee on Health and Ecological
Effects, the EPA Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee,
and the National Academies of Science Committee on Air Quality
Management, among others, as well as advising the California Air
Resources Board on innovative control technologies. She was named
Cal State Fullerton’s Outstanding Professor for 2000-2001 and was
honored with a statewide California State University Wang Family
Excellence Award in 2001. She has also received the Carl Moyer
Memorial Award for Scientific Leadership and Technical Excellence.
Her Ph.D. is from the Energy and Resources Group at the University
of California, Berkeley. |
