Director
Center for International
Business
|
I am pleased to announce the
appointment of Dr. Katrin R.
Harich, professor of Marketing,
as director of the Center for
International Business. The main
objective of the Center is to
promote “internationalization”
of the College’s programs
involving students, faculty, and
curricula. The Center also
collaborates with and supports
the B.A. in International
Business degree.
In her previous position as
associate dean, Dr. Harich was
instrumental in developing and
supporting several international
initiatives at the College. She
started the BEST (Business
European Study Tour) and
facilitated faculty exchanges.
The Center for International
Business will assist in creating
and supporting study abroad
programs for business students.
Such opportunities include those
specifically aimed at the
College’s students (i.e. the
BEST Program) and other
opportunities provided by the
University and the CSU System.
The Center will assist in
creating and supporting Faculty
Exchange programs with the
College’s partner universities.
It will also assist the
College’s faculty members with
the creation and dissemination
of research and teaching
materials on international
topics (seminars, conferences,
colloquia, working paper
series).
Through internships and outreach
activities, the Center will
assist the B.A. in International
Business degree program to reach
its goals. It will also provide
its support for student
recruitment and placement and
program development and
assessment for the degree
program.
The Center will collaborate with
other College centers and
centers and international
associations at universities
nationwide (CIBER Centers, as
one example). It will also
create and support educational
and training programs in area of
its interest.
Please join me in
welcoming Dr. Katrin R. Harich
on her new assignment!
