Dr. Mande is the Director for the Center
for Corporate Reporting and Governance (CCRG) which organizes SEC
financial reporting training conferences for Boards of Directors, audit
committees, auditors and accountants in Southern California. He is the
2007-2008 PricewaterhouseCoopers Faculty Fellow. In addition
to being a Professor at Cal State Fullerton, he has been a SOX
consultant on 404 issues in the US. He has provided training to foreign private issuers on US GAAP
issues. He was the 2001-2002 Academic Fellow at the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington DC.
Dr. Mande is the author of
Accounting for Share-Based Compensation (2006) published by BNA
(Arlington, VA). His work has been quoted in
numerous newspapers and articles such as KPMG’s
Audit Committee
Insight and
Compliance Week.
His work on executive compensation was the front page story
of the
Orange County Register
in Summer 2006. He has made presentations on US
accounting issues in numerous countries including
Taiwan, mainland China, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, India,
Germany and Singapore. Dr. Mande obtained his
Ph.D from
the Anderson Graduate School of Management, UCLA.
Dr. Mande was named the
Outstanding Faculty for 2005 by the College's Executive Council.
He was the recipient of the Droulliard Scholar Award in Spring
2004, and was the Moss Adams Accounting Research
Fellow for 2002, 2003, and 2004. Dr. Mande is an Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants
and a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA). Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, Professor Mande held faculty appointments at the City University of New York- Baruch, the University of Arizona and the University of Nebraska, Omaha. His research interests include various issues regarding auditor independence and earnings quality. He has also examined how analysts use financial data to make predictions and has studied the reaction of stock markets to analysts' predictions. His research findings have been published in
Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy,
International Journal of Accounting, ABACUS, Accounting and Business Research and a number of other journals.
