
Grant Thornton LLP named Gary E. Wilson, Audit partner, as the new partner-in-charge (PIC) of the firm's Irvine office. The announcement was made recently by Richard Simitian, managing partner of Grant Thornton's Southern California practice. Wilson assumes the role from Scott Farber, Irvine Audit partner and member of the firm's Partnership Board. Wilson joined Grant Thornton in 1991 and has been a partner since 2004. He also serves as the Southern California co-industry leader for the firm's Technology Industry Practice and is the partner leader for Southern California's university recruiting efforts. Gary's prior professional experience also includes being a Chief Financial Officer of a publicly held biopharmaceutical company.
Currently, he is serving on the board of directors for the California Society of CPAs - Orange County/Long Beach Chapter, United Way of Orange County (Finance Committee) and the Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance at California State University, Fullerton. Wilson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and accounting from the University of Michigan.
