Campus Scholarships 2011-2012
Department of Accounting Awards

The Department of Accounting, the Accounting Advisory Association, and other organizations and individuals are once again sponsoring awards and scholarships which will be presented at this semester’s Awards Banquet.

  1. GPA Award Criteria: Accounting GPA, Overall GPA, and the number of units taken.
  2. Overall Outstanding Role Model Award Criteria: The award will be given to a graduating student who has demonstrated excellence and balance in the area of academic performance (GPA), community service and communication skills, as well as other aspects of one’s personal life.
  3. Beta Alpha Psi Award Criteria: The applicant must be one of the top ten Delta Beta chapter point achievers during the current semester. (Points will be evaluated two weeks prior to awards banquet) Each eligible applicant will be further evaluated based on cumulative national points earned during their entire membership.
  4. The Accounting Society Award Criteria: Applicant must be either an officer or hold a chair position. The criteria for the award also includes active service, leadership, mentoring of new members and teamwork to further the club’s goals.

A list of other awards given during 2010-2011 is provided below. We anticipate that all or most of these awards will once again be sponsored for 2011-2012.

The Criteria for these awards include: Academic GPA; active participation in student and/or community groups; and faculty evaluation of student performance and potential.


Cynthia A. Brown Memorial Scholarship
  • Amount - $500.
  • Open – This scholarship is open to continuing Accounting concentration students who are entering their senior year.
  • Application Deadline - TBD.

Criteria - Includes scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities and community activities. Funds for this scholarship are provided from a memorial trust account to honor Cynthia A. Brown. This fund was established by Cynthia Brown's father in her memory to encourage scholarship at her alma mater.
