The Master of Science in Accountancy provides the conceptual understanding and technical competence for a career in professional accounting. Many employment opportunities include public accounting, industrial accounting and government. The program encompasses both a theoretical foundation in accounting and business administration as well as technical skills. Emphasis is placed on the development of a professional attitude and the capacity to deal with issues of accounting policy and ethics.

The curriculum is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. Students with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than business administration may meet this requirement by completing the Business Foundation block within the MBA along with the undergraduate accounting concentration courses. The Master of Science in Taxation provides the conceptual understanding and technical competence for a career in taxation. Employment opportunities include the tax departments of CPA and law firms, as well as corporations and government tax agencies. For those already employed in the field, the MS in Taxation should meet the continuing education requirements of professional associations and licensing boards.
