Starting with the May/August 2008 graduating class, all students in the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics will have their graduation checks completed through a new process called “Titan Degree Audit Grad Check”.

INSTRUCTIONS

After submitting your grad check application and fee, the Graduation Unit and the Business Advising Center will simultaneously begin an official review of all of your graduation requirements. After both departments have completed their review, you will then receive an email informing you that your Grad Check is complete. At that time, you will need review your Titan Degree Audit and review it very carefully. Please note that your official graduation requirements will be based on this verified Titan Degree Audit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND OFTEN OVERLOOKED REQUIREMENTS

1. What happens if I disagree with my Titan Degree Audit?
If your concern is with your major requirements, please visit the Business Advising Center. If your concern is with General Education, please visit the Academic Advising Center. In either case, please remember to bring your printed copy of the Titan Degree Audit.

2. Do you have enough Upper-Division General Education Units ?
Every student must complete at least 9 units of upper-division General Education Units. If you are not clear on this requirement, please visit the Academic Advising Center in University Hall room 123.

3. Why does my TDA say that I'm missing lower division courses when I know that I took them?
If your TDA indicates that you are missing lower-division courses, chances are that you did not submit a final transcript from the community college. Please make sure that you request your transcripts and that they be sent directly to the Admissions and Records Office.

4. What are the minimum grade requirements ?
The following grade requirements apply to all MCBE students:

You must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0.
You must have a Cal State Fullerton grade point average of at least 2.0
You must have a grade point average of at least 2.0 for all courses in the major.
You must have a grade point average of at least 2.0 in your concentration courses.
You must earn a grade a grade of "C" (2.0) or better in each business core course.

For students in Accounting, Information Systems, Management Science and International Business, in addition to the above, you must also earn a grade of "C" (2.0) or better in each concentration course.

5. What are the minimum unit requirements for graduation?
All students must complete a minimum of 120 units of which at least 40 must be upper-division. All business and international business majors automatically meet the 40 upper-division unit requirement. Make sure that you will have at enough units for graduation.
ECONOMICS MAJORS BEWARE! Most economic majors need extra elective units to reach the 120 unit minimum requirement as well as an extra upper-division unit to reach the required 40.

6. When is the spring graduation ceremony?
Graduation ceremonies for the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics are generally held during the last weekend of May. For additional commencement information, please go to: http://www.fullerton.edu/commencement

7. I am taking my final classes during the summer, can I still participate in the May ceremony?
Yes, August candidates are invited to the May commencement ceremony.

8. What happens if I don’t finish all of my classes by August and need to take classes in the Fall?
You will have to change your graduation date. Simply go to the Graduation Unit in LH 114 and fill out a request to change your graduation date. Please note that you must do this before you can register for fall classes.

90. Do I have to pass all of my business core classes with a “C” or better?
Yes, all business and economics core courses must be passed with a grade of “C” or better. Any “C-“ or lower grade must be repeated.

10. I’m an international business major. Do I have to pass all of my courses with a grade of “C” or better?
Yes, all required courses for the international business major must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. Any “C-“ or lower grade must be repeated. In addition, you must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average in all of your concentration courses.

11. Do I have to have a grade point average of 2.0 for all courses in my major?
Yes, for all business, international business and economics majors, you must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average in all courses taken for your major.

12. When will I receive my diploma?
Diplomas are not issued at the commencement ceremonies. Diplomas are usually mailed a month or two after you complete your final courses. An official transcript verifying degree completion is usually available a month after you complete your final courses.

13. What GPA do I need to graduate with honors?
cum laude...............................3.50 - 3.74
magna cum laude...................3.75 - 3.89
summa cum laude..................3.90 - 4.00
