Dr. John Barbuto (Jay) obtained his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Rhode Island in 1997 after obtaining an MBA from Bentley University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting) from the University of Maine. He has been on the faculty at the University of Nebraska since receiving his Ph.D. where he has specialized in teaching and researching Leadership topics.

Dr. Barbuto is an accomplished and prolific researcher with over 70 refereed journal publications, including articles in the Organization Management Journal, the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, and the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management. Over the years, he has received several awards and grants for both his research and teaching and he has been consistently involved in executive education and industry consulting. Dr. Barbuto joins the Management Department in the area of Organizational Behavior. Further, he will use his wealth of experience in the leadership area as he serves as the Director of the MCBE Leadership Center.
