Dr. Gamini Gunawardane is a professor of management at the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, of California State University, Fullerton, where he teaches courses in operations management. He holds a Ph.D. and an MBA, both from the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ceylon, in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Gunawardane has had experience teaching management courses at universities around the world, such as the University of Scranton, the University of Chicago, the University of Zambia, and the University of Sri Lanka. He has also had business and consulting experience, in both Sri Lanka and the US. In addition to his experience, Dr. Gunawardane has done much research on various topics, and he has published articles in various journals such as the Economic Review and the Journal of Management.
