Accounting is often referred to as the language and the foundation of business. This concentration will not only provide students the conceptual understanding and technical competence for a career in professional accounting, but also foster leadership roles and facilitate advancement within private industries, governments, public accounting, or not-for-profit organizations.
Mihalyo is one of only five schools in California that is accredited by AACSB International for both our business administration and accounting programs. This distinction gives our graduates an incredible advantage when launching or progressing their careers. The Department of Accounting has two new courses that were just developed for our incoming Master of Science in Accountancy students. The new courses, ACCT 480A: External Reporting and ACCT 480B: Internal Reporting, were created to allow incoming MS Accountancy students who have an undergraduate degree in a subject other than accounting to complete all of their accounting pre-requisites over one summer.
