Monica Sabahi

Professor Monica Sabahi is an alumni from California State University, Fullerton, having earned both her Bachelor and Master’s degree in English here. During her studies she concentrated on Children’s Literature, writing about Post-Colonial Theory and it’s representation in Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Monica has also taught in the English department as an English 101 instructor. While working as a tutor, Monica was published in Inside Perspectives, a student course book. In her article she focused on ESL writers and the interplay between direct and indirect tutoring.

Outside of the academic world, Professor Sabahi has worked for amPR as an assistant to the owner writing, creating, and processing client bio’s, press packets, and movie reviews. Her time spent with amPR was integral to her understanding of social media and its importance in today’s business environment, it shaped her so much that she began free-lance writing for an internet based clothing company as their social media writer. Monica’s free-lance work mostly consists of writing, creating and executing blogs, Twitter, and Facebook as a means to increase a business’ client base.

In her spare time, when she has it, Monica practices yoga and hopes to become a certified instructor. She enjoys spending her time off in the company of her boyfriend, good friends, and family.
