When I am not teaching, I spend my time coaching the El Camino College Forensics Team (currently number one in the nation)! I teach students how to compete in individual platform speaking events and debate rounds.
My main areas of research include argumentation and persuasion. I am specifically interested in compliance gaining in interpersonal relationships.
My career experience includes currently working in HR at a carbide manufacturing tool company in Lawndale. I have also managed a traffic school and worked as a proofreader/editor for a vocational rehabilitation firm.
During my spare time (what is that again?) I enjoy traveling, eating, reading and spending time with my dogs, Ryland & Kyra. My volunteer experience includes writing the Weekly Pet of the Week Column for the Hermosa Beach Easy Reader and PV News. In addition, I volunteer my time with SPARE (Save Pound Animals Through Rescue and Education) where I help place abused and abandoned animals in loving homes.
