Professor Breta Hedges

Professor Hedges earned her Bachelor of Arts Degrees from University of California, Riverside with a double major in Business and Psychology. She graduated with high honors of Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and a proud member of the Golden Key Honors Society.

She earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration education at the University of Redlands. She has a certificate in Human Resources as well as being a current member of the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) and the Healthcare Association of Southern California (HASC).

Professor Hedges has worked over 20 years in different organizations and industries, primarily in the field of Human Resources and Public Relations in the Healthcare Industry. She began her last position as Education/Training Specialist at Redlands Community Hospital in 2002, where she trained hundreds of employees and managers on various topics. She continues to work at Redlands Community Hospital part-time doing Project Consulting, persuasive proposals for various aspects of hospital administration, and strategic planning.

Professor Hedges has been teaching at California State University, Fullerton since 2005. She teaches Business Communication 201 and 301 (BUAD201 and BUAD301). In addition, she has taught some graduate classes and seminars in business communication. She has a passion for adding Service-Learning to her classes, and has done so since 2009, including applying for and receiving grants for implementing service learning into the classroom. She has taught several Business Communication 201 & 301 Honors Service Learning sections, and was selected by the honors students in the program as “Most Outstanding Honors Professor” for several semesters. In 2010 she was nominated and selected for the “Most Outstanding Part-Time Faculty of the Year” award.
